Who I am
My name is Dion Ooi from Penang, Malaysia. I have two major things that I love doing; cooking and learning (I believe that we learn as long as we live). My hobbies; cooking, reading and listening to music (any genre depending on my mood). Happily married with two beautiful kids.
Why I do this
A lot of people that I have met, organisations consulted, trained, coached and encountered with… majority of them want something more out of their lives. Not many are happy with who they are, what they are doing and going through their life on a day-to-day basis. I know they can have a better world (spiritual, family, health, personal, career, financial, community); they just need some kind of help and I trust I am able to help inspire and develop them to be better.

Dion Ooi is an international consultant, certified organizational development professional. He has held key leadership positions in Dell Computers with more than 20 years in Business and General Management, Information Systems, Sales and Marketing, Supply Chain Management, Project Management with practical experience in providing culture change, excellent customer experience, building and managing effective teams, learning and development, adult experiential learning, facilitating, coaching and mentoring.
He has completed various consulting projects for international multi-national companies and large local companies.
His experience in business and people skills in local and international business scenes permit him to gather and propose appropriate and relevant solutions, recommendations, examples, and case studies. The exposure makes the whole process effective and efficient.
His creative, innovative, intuitive, and unique ability of selecting the highlights and pointers from organizations supported resulting to better references to solutions. Clients are hence able to take back with them valuable knowledge and skills that they can apply and practice immediately to make impactful changes in their own organizations for outstanding results.
He was awarded the Dell Effective Leadership Award (for managing a team of Contact Center Specialists, projects and initiatives) and the Dell Vice President Award (for managing training projects and conferences successfully) and Trainer of the Month award from New Horizons Computer Learning Center, USA. Apart from the awards and recognitions, Dion has successfully organized international and local corporate events and conferences ahead of time. He is a firm believer in managing activities effectively to get the results you want.
During his tenure to lead and manage a team of specialists in a contact center, Dion has conducted numerous interpersonal communication training programs, coaching, counseling, building high-performance team programs, and developed training programs (leadership and interpersonal communication skills) for many corporations based on his years of experience in consulting and corporate training for various industries.
He has travelled to many countries to do consulting, facilitation, training, coaching, and organizing events for multi-national companies. Dion has a purpose to inspire and develop leaders to reach their highest potential. That has led him to setup his own blog site, worldofhabits.com and co-hosted a value-added talk show, TIK4TIPs to benefit leaders and organizations.
To date, more than 35,000 participants have benefited from his training, coaching, workshops, seminars, and team building programs.
